Q1. Do vGuitar Lessons work with Windows PC and Apple Mac?
Answer. Yes.

For beginners. We recommend the following.

- Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
For Intermediate,
- Good Riddance - Greenday

Q9. The entire archive (over 48 songs) is showing in my cart but I only want to purchase 1 lesson.

Then click 'Update'
This will clear your cart so you can just add the songs you want.
Please email the above address using 'Feedback' as the subject title.
Q10. I just paid for some guitar lessons, but I don’t know how to view them. Will you email them to me? Will you post them to me? Have I been conned?
Answer. No you have not been conned.
Please login to your account and go to ‘My Files’.
Click on the small button that says “view”.
You will then be able to click on each lesson and download them to your hard drive.
Q11. I downloaded my guitar lessons but I am having trouble viewing them.
Answer.
-Firstly you need to unzip the file. Use standard un-zipping software usually provided with Microsoft windows or Mac OS X.
- If you experience a problem unzipping the file, please return to the website and download the file again from the “My Files” area. Your account is automatically set to allow 2 downloads to the same computer just incase you experience a problem. In most cases, the file will unzip fine the second time. It’s possible the download was interrupted the first time, corrupting the file.
Once unzipped, inside the folder is an .mp4 video file.
You will need VLC, QuickTime or Real Player to view the video guitar lesson.

Q12. I purchased all songs as part of the $97 offer, but Ben has just added a new song. Am I entitled to access the new song for free?
Answer. Sorry, The $97 archive deal only applies to the songs in the catalog at the time you purchased. We realize this may be disappointing, but please remember, the $97 offer is already heavily discounted. This allowed you to get over 48 great guitar lessons ($500 worth of lessons) for less than $2 each! This was already a great deal, so there is nothing to feel disappointed about.
Q13. I would really like to download your guitar lessons but I am concerned about paying for things over the Internet.
We understand your concern. It is natural to be cautious. But we can assure you that our payment processing system is as safe and secure as they come. There is nothing to worry about.
We use a system called 2CO to process our payment. Their security and fraud prevention is so tight that sometimes I feel they are too cautious! We accept all major card types.
We accept Paypal which is well know internet payment system (owned by eBay) used by over 100 million people. You can fund a paypal account and then use those funds to pay for things on various different website (such as vGuitar).
Neither us (vGuitar) nor 2CO keep any records of your payment details.
I REPEAT. WE DO NOT AND CANNOT SEE YOUR CARD DETAILS!
I can assure you that we have processed thousands of successful transactions with no problem whatsoever. Our customers are very happy.
Please feel safe to try out our guitar lessons.
(You can view customer comments on each lesson on the website).
Q14. What model is Ben’s guitar?
The blue electric was custom made for Ben for his 18th birthday by a man called Bob Gill in England.
Unfortunately it was stolen in a house burglary, so if you ever see it around and recognize it please let us know as we would love to get it back! :-(
Ben replaced the stolen guitar with a PRS custom 24. (You can see this in lessons such as Sultans of Swing). And a Gibson Les Paul (as seen in lessons such as Back in Black by AC/DC)
The acoustic that Ben uses is a medium priced Yamaha steel string electro-acoustic.
Q15. I want to buy a guitar. What guitar should I get?
I recommend Yamaha as the best value. They have a huge range to choose from at prices to suit all budgets. The cheapest electric is called a Yamaha Pacifica.
The Pacifica is a good value low budget electric guitar. It is suitable for beginners.
If you have more money to spend there is a huge range between $300 and $1000.
If you want the very best. Take a look at Fender, PRS and Gibson.
Please remember, you get what you pay for. If you are fortunate enough to have the money, a medium priced guitar will perform better and stay in tune easier.
I do not recommend buying the cheapest electric or acoustics that are available for less than $100. They will not help your playing.
For Amplifiers. Marshall are the classic amp. They offer a huge range to suit all budgets. Also Line 6 offer a good range.
I recommend you travel to a music shop and try all the different equipment available. It’s fun, and the staff are usually very happy to answer your questions.
Q16. Ben’s guitar sounds so cool! How do I get my guitar to sound the same??
The sound I get is because I use a fully valved Marshall amp.
Fully valved amps are more expensive but you can find them on eBay.
They are considered more professional because they dont operate very quietly.
However, modern digital technology does a very good job of emulating this great sound. Products such as Line 6 pod, Deglitch effects pedals, and Boss effects pedals help you emulate a great sound.
The valves create the sharp clean sound.
I also use some reverb (built into the amp) to soften the sound.
For distortion / overdrive sound (for rock).
This is also done by the amp. The amp has a B channel (sometimes called a boost channel). Most amps have this feature.
If you are thinking of buying an amp I recommend you choose one that has reverb and distortion / gain / overdrive built in. Valve amps are best but they cost more money.
Contrary to popular belief, the settings on the amp and guitar are not that important.
I tend to turn all the knobs up on the guitar. Then set the tone knobs to 50% on the amp. I use the pickup selector switch to change between a sharp or soft sound.
Q17. I would like to ask Ben a specific question about a specific guitar lesson.
